I am a Senior at Texas State University graduating in December with a BS in Digital Media Innovations.
As a new professional, I am eager to begin. I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. My Digital Media Innovation degree gave me a firm base which to begin my professional career. I enjoy graphic design and photography so I have done my best to incorporate the two in my photography. I changed my major three times before landing in the Communications department. My minor is Theater but I focused on film courses so throughout my college career I’ve written 3 short films, filmed 3 of my own pieces, and helped on many other projects.
I was still unsure of my career until this past summer when I took more of my upper level courses such as Web Design and Advanced Social Media. Those classes solidified my ideas on what I wanted to be “when I grow up.” I realized I enjoyed creating websites and I was far more knowledgeable in Photoshop and InDesign than I gave myself credit for. That being said, I have goals of being a web designer or graphic designer.
I grew up in Canyon Lake, Texas. I attended 5 schools before I graduated high school and I never moved houses. That shows how quickly my community was growing. My freshman year of college I attended Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. It took me about two months to decide that wasn’t the place for me and I moved to San Marcos, Texas, to continue my education at Texas State the next fall.
A few fun things about me, I love coffee and puppies. The obsession for both is very real. I am left handed. I will always be an angsty 15-year-old as far as my music preferences are concerned. I am a book junkie. And equally knowledgeable in movie quotes. My favorite movie is The Breakfast Club and my favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.
